Tech Lead - Principal Software Engineer

Our client, Oceanworks, is looking for an engineering team lead who is excited to drive the development roadmap, ship great products, and maintain a healthy balance of velocity and engineering excellence. This position is remote. However, if you reside in Boston or LA, our client prefers someone who can go into the office 2-3 days a week. The tech lead will work closely with the Technical PM and will be responsible for architecting and leading the development of our client’s technology infrastructure. Oceanworks aims to build new products in a customer-first way so you’ll be working quite a bit in React/Next.js, CSS, Node.js, etc. Major projects will include architecting and building our client’s recycled plastics Track & Trace system, building out an updated customer web portal, and optimizing internal databases for searchability and order management. Candidates should be comfortable making design decisions, leading and mentoring junior developers, and driving platform development with limited oversight.
