Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking for the next leader of their company who will be taking the reins from their current President who after over twenty years, will be retiring. This role, centered south of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is with a company that has been in business for over fifty years. Although their gross earnings continue to grow into $20 million+, at their core, they are still a family-owned business with some of their ownership team even working onsite. They are looking for a leader who will lead their team of 65 into the next generation of innovation but most importantly, preserve the culture they already have in place. Of course, there can always be room for organic change, but they are looking to attract a leader who will observe and assimilate rather than upsetting the apple cart too quickly. They are looking for a hands-on leader who understands how to cultivate relationships within each department that allows them to pull the most out of their team. This is a very engineering-driven business so although you don’t have to have an engineering background, you still must have the intellectual curiosity to ask the right questions and use that information along with the intel you receive from key accounts to be dynamic enough to think down the line for future innovation. Ultimately, they are looking for an engaged leader who does not feel they are beyond interacting with customers, partnering with the Controller to drive financial strategies and review the balance sheet while still creating business plans that advance their objectives to promote profitably and growth as an organization.
