Electrical Engineer Location: Schaumburg, IL Salary: Commensurate with Experience + Benefits Benefits: $600/month towards health insurance, 401k, PTO, Holidays Job Type: Full-Time Typical Hours: M-F, 8am-5pm Start Date: ASAP Sponsorship is not available Electrical Engineer Description Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking for an Electrical Engineer to add to their intimate team in Schaumburg, IL. This is an in-office position. Some of your time will be spent supporting new development work starting with system level design of the electronics, schematics, and the building of materials. When not bringing new products up, you’ll be working to support current products which includes ordering PC board assemblies and researching replacement parts for obsolete components as well as supporting overall manufacturing efforts. Ideal candidates will have at least five years’ experience designing embedded electronics and systems. This is a small, tight-knit team where you will wear a lot of hats but will never just be a number. Instead, you’ll have high impact and visibility. To be successful in this role, you must balance being detail orientated with still driving initiatives forward in a timely manner. Electrical Engineer Responsibilities • Design and bring up of embedded controls and supporting electronics • Participate in design reviews and product planning • Maintain existing products and new product development • Meet proper regulatory standards for product marketplace • Design cable assemblies • Maintain schematics and BOMs • Manage component obsolescence and lead time • Order prototype components and assemble prototypes • Approve vendors and audit quality related to PCBAs and cable assemblies • Support manufacturing with proper tool selection and work instructions • Troubleshoot hardware problems in-house and seldomly at customers • Communicate with distributors, sales representatives, and customers Electrical Engineer Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering required • 5+ years of designing embedded electronics and systems experience required • 5+ years of supporting designs through full product life cycles required • Hands-on soldering experience required • Well-versed in SolidWorks and orCAD required
