Our client, an industry-leading electronics manufacturer, is looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team in Woburn, MA. This is an in-office position with potential work-from-home flexibility down the road. Reporting to the President, you will join this small, yet stable company of 20 and take over business development and sales from their previous team member who was with them for many years and recently retired. You will not be managing a team; this is a hands-on individual contributor role where you will benefit from a large existing customer base across major OEMs, government contracts, as well as distributors. Although you will be capitalizing off this existing business, our client is looking for that hunter who isn’t complacent with accounts that are currently in play. They’re looking for someone hungry to reach out to past contacts who understand perseverance pays. Because of their expansive customer base, you’ll need to be just as comfortable talking with an engineer as you are talking to a contact within the military. Their products range in complexity so a background selling either mechanical or electrically complex products would be a must. Given they are an essential business with a specific product line (and therefore less competition in the marketplace), you can feel comfortable transitioning to a recession-proof company.
