Accounting Generalist

Our client, an industrial distribution company, is looking for an Accounting Generalist to join their small team of 30 in Largo, FL. You will be responsible for general accounting initiatives such as GL, A/P, and A/R while supporting month-end closing. You will be replacing a team member who is retiring after being with the company for over 20 years. Although this is a tight-knit accounting team of only two, they outsource some areas (like payroll) to a CPA firm so this is not an overwhelming environment where you will not have resources. Instead, you will benefit from a company culture where work/life balance is respected, and you are treated like a person and not a number. Their President understands the importance of cultivating an environment of approachability where ideas are shared, and real change happens. One of their action items is to transition to a completely digital infrastructure. They are not there yet though so if you would be frustrated by a non-paperless environment, this wouldn’t be the right fit. However, if you have experience with the “old-school” method and would enjoy supporting them during a transformative time, this would be a great fit. Ultimately, they are looking for someone who understands change doesn’t happen overnight and the importance of first learning the ins and outs of the current environment.
