Our client, a value-added reseller in Birmingham, AL, is looking for a Remote Systems Engineer to add to their innovative team. You have the flexibility to work from your home office if you prefer but candidates must be within a 45-minute drive to Birmingham to accommodate weekly in-person support to their clients. In this position, you will be responsible for working on a variety of diverse projects including implementations, upgrades, troubleshooting, and consulting on the design of new services. Although this is a senior-level position, our client is looking for someone with a strong server background who is still willing to provide user support around 10% of the time. Additionally, because you will be acting as more of a consultant than a technician, people skills are a must along with the ability to look at the big picture and architect solutions for clients. If you prefer a more static environment that doesn’t change, this would not be the right fit.
