Mechanical Engineer (Refinery or Chemical Plant exp. req.) Our client is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Salt Lake City, Utah. Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting the organization in piping analysis, fixed and rotating equipment, and maintenance. This role includes both office and fieldwork activities. Ideal candidates will have mechanical engineering experience in a refinery or chemical plant. Responsibilities ● Support safety and environmental efforts ● Evaluate new and existing structures for mechanical integrity ● Work with the inspection department on code interpretation, and risk-based assessments ● Analyze risks, code interpretations, and piping for the capital team ● Troubleshoot and diagnose problems, and recommend repairs ● Identify issues and implement improvement plans ● Assist maintenance department with root-cause problem-resolution efforts Mechanical Engineer (Refinery or Chemical Plant exp. req.) Qualifications ● BS in Mechanical Engineering or a similar engineering degree required ● 5+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience required ● 3+ years of refining or chemical plant experience required ● Working knowledge in API-510/570/650-653 standards required ● Practical Knowledge in ASME Section VIII Division I and ASME B31.3 Piping Codes required ● AutoCAD software experience required
