Our client in the technology industry is looking for a Data Scientist to join their team. Their ideal candidate would be close to the Austin area to come onsite as needed but this role can be fully remote for the right person. In this position, you will be responsible for combining a wide range of statistical techniques to create market-leading optimization and business/financial recommendations to their customers. You will be solving problems centered around pricing and will use algorithmic approaches around numbers. So, a background in economics or frankly just an interest, will give you a step up. To be chosen for this role, you must have a wealth of exposure to various statistical techniques with the ability to simplify and explain complex analyses to non-technical internal and external clients. They are looking for someone who will think through real life models and find a solution depending on what model makes sense. Being able to say, “I get the real-life model, and now I need to find a way to manage that statistically.” You’ll be producing an algorithm that will stand up to the real world without someone sitting there behind the curtain analyzing it. To be successful in this role, you must have a strong background in R programming.
